Letter from the President
Harald Rosenqvist
“CPT is a one-hundred-year-old company and, looking back now, we can see with pride how much we have grown in all these years. We have faced different seas with sacrifice, dedication, and passion… a lot of passion. It has also been necessary to be humble enough to work on our weaknesses while leveraging our strengths to seize all opportunities that circumstances and history have granted us. We live in a globalized and highly competitive world where there is room only for the best.”
Today, we sail in waters of different latitudes. We have knowledge of south and north, east and west. We have expanded our operations overseas, developing successfully in countries such as Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, and Panama, among others. We can proudly say that we have succeeded in positioning CPT Towage as a relevant player in the Latin American industry, competing with the leading operators in the world, supporting shipowners and shipping companies worldwide through our agency and towage services. And there is more, so much more.
We have been capable of anticipating changes in the industry in tune with our users’ needs. This is how we go for more: more quality, coverage, innovation, and technology. Also, more empathy towards our customers and more dreams to fulfill.
Our engagement in salmon logistics is proof of this. From transport barges, we have evolved by generating research and knowledge, allowing us to be the largest logistics operator for the salmon industry in Chile today, with vessels, ports, and processing plants. We also have room here for so much more.
Our success is primarily based on a team of professional excellence in all latitudes where we operate, focused on being a relevant contributor for the development and wellbeing of local communities. We do not just transport cargo and provide support in several production activities, we bring families closer, shorten distances and generate belonging. All because we care about people. Our connectivity area started with smaller vessels and focused on tourism. Today, through several companies with modern ferries, we provide an agile and state-of-the-art service in Southern Chile. We will not stop there, because we also want so much more.
However, this growth cannot be explained solely by our ability to adapt. We also know how to be team players, because it is our calling to be comprehensively successful and we are sure that our partners contribute to this goal. In all our years of experience, we have confirmed that diversity enriches us all, and thus make us grow.
Today, we look to the future and glimpse a new scenario, based on innovation, cutting-edge technology, and the highest standards of service in all our business units. All this within a framework of safeguarding and committing to a sustainable development, where we seek a balance between production, protection, and conservation of the environment. This is the direction that will guide our navigation through new routes to be discovered, and everyone is invited to join us in this challenge to write a new chapter in our history.”
